Nothing is new! Haven’t seen a single sparrow since the last World House Sparrow Day, which was exactly one year back!

The house sparrow is now in the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature ) Red List. March 20 has been declared the World House Sparrow day. Come, let’s take stock of the situation. The population of this ubiquitous bird has suffered from the various ecological disturbances.

The house sparrow is so named because it is so commonly found around the houses. Common! You wonder. When was the last time you saw a house sparrow or heard it’s chirping. Well time to do some hard soul searching. What are we doing to the nature and it’s denizens?
